Student Oyster Cards

We don't sell Student Oyster Cards in the SU Shop - they now need to be applied for online. You can go here to apply. If you're not sure whether you're eligible, keep reading and find out!

Full-time students

If you are currently enrolled on a full-time course at St Mary’s University, you are eligible for the TFL 18+ Student Oystercard.

You may apply for the card between 1 September 2014 and 31 July 2015 once you are fully enrolled on your course.

PLEASE NOTE: APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY BE APPROVED FROM THE OFFICIAL FIRST DAY OF TERM ONWARDS.

Part-time students

New Students

New part-time students in 2014/15 will not be eligible for a TfL 18+ Student Oyster card unless you are a postgraduate student receiving help from the Access to Learning Fund.

If you are unsure as to whether or not you are eligible, please contact the Students’ Union before making your application to avoid wasting £10 on the TfL application fee.  Almost 50% of the applications made in 2013/14 were ineligible for the scheme.

Continuing students

If you are currently enrolled on a part-time course here, you are eligible for the TFL 18+ Student Oystercard if:

  • You are an undergraduate student who received the maximum Government fee grant before 1 September 2012 and were issued with a multi-year 18+ Student Oyster photocard that has not yet expired.
  • You are a postgraduate receiving help from the Access to Learning Fund.

PLEASE NOTE: APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY BE APPROVED FROM THE OFFICIAL FIRST DAY OF TERM ONWARDS.
