Favourite Cafes in London - Student Blog

This blog post, I'll be sharing two of my favourite cafe spots in London that can be enjoyed with friends and families.

As we are in a period of lockdown, it given us the opportunity to reflect back on memories and happy moments in our life. I find this really important; we all have busy lives; we should take the time to reflect on what makes us happy and joyful especially the smaller moments in life that are sometimes overlooked. So, I thought I’ll share two of my favourite cafes as nothing makes me happier than good food and desserts! Maybe once the global pandemic is over we can all try and enjoy the smaller moments in our life and appreciate the happiness we get from little things!

One of my favourite places for desserts is Cafe Concerto. It's whole atmosphere, the food, drinks and the people working there is what makes it a very special place to go. If you really enjoy hot chocolate then I really recommend visiting this cafe; they really do have one of the finest hot chocolate that you can get here in London. My favourite piece of dessert from Cafe Concerto is definitely their Blackforest cake slice topped with dark Belgian chocolate and definitely it has to be a must try if you ever visit this cafe!

My favourite food spot is Ole and Steen, it is one of the best known cafes in Denmark as well as here in London. As someone that has always loved danish pastries, I feel that this cafe gives you an opportunity to experience the Scandinavian atmosphere and taste of Denmark in London. Ole and Steen its a place that shouldn't be missed out by anyone especially those that are highly passionate about food. There are branches across London and Oxford with prices being quite high but looking at what it has to offer its all worth it!

If your looking to treat yourself, I recommend you try the Berry cake slice, its a rich and fruity dessert. Its a light and tangy berry mousse cake with a chocolate base that comes with a little surprise cheesecake at the centre of it. If you seriously love danish pastries then you should try the cinnamon social, its known to be the best cinnamon buns and I really do agree with this! Its truly the most delicious cinnamon swirl filled with cinnamon and custard topped with drizzled icing, its literally the best piece of dessert you can get if your not too fond of desserts. Unlike other cafes their cinnamon social slice has less pastry, its more like a soft cinnamon bread which truly helps its to be the best.
