Where can I get a ticket?

At the time of writing (Friday 17 May, 12pm) there are tickets left but we'd advise buying soon as they're running low! Tickets are available from 10am - 6pm on Friday 17 May, and then they'll also be available from the University's Main Reception from 7pm - 11pm too.

How do I pick up my wristband?

The ticket that will have been emailed to you when you bought your wristband online will not get you into the Ball. To get in, you need a wristband.

Tickets can be exchanged for wristbands between 10am and 4pm on Thursday 16 May, and from 10am - 6pm on Friday 17 May in K11. They can then also be exchanged on the night of the Ball from Main University reception between 7pm and 11pm.

If you are picking your wristband up on the evening of the Ball, bear in mind that queues could be 30 - 45 minutes or longer, so make sure you arrive as early as possible on the night.

You need a student ID to collect your wristband along with the ticket that will have been emailed to you when you ordered online. You don't need to print this out (and we’d rather you didn’t to save the environment) - showing it on your phone screen is fine. The ticket you show us must have your name on it. If you don't have a student ID, a clearly legible photo of it will suffice - but if you don't have this, you will need to buy a new student card from Security.

If it's the 16th or 17th May and you're buying your ticket from the Shop, you'll be given it immediately or given the option to come back and collect it before the Ball.

Can I bring a guest?

2 guests per current student are permitted. You can buy your guest’s ticket when you buy your own by buying 2 tickets rather than 1.

Loose wristbands will be given out due to security and licensing reasons.

I'm bringing a guest - can I pick up their wristband?

Guests can only pick up their wristbands in the presence of the person who bought their ticket - no loose wristbands will be given out. Guests will need valid ID (Passport or driving licence) so that we can take down their names. They’ll also need this to prove that they’re over 18 if asked at the event. If your guest is another student, they’ll need to bring their student ID with them when they come with you to collect it – a current St Mary’s student cannot get their wristband without student ID.

Loose wristbands will be given out due to security and licensing reasons.

Can I pick up a wristband for a friend?

No loose wristbands will be given out due to security and licensing reasons, so this won't be possible. Remember, unlike in previous years we're open for wristband collection on the night of the Ball until 11pm from Main Reception, so there'll be no need to do this anyway!

I can’t attend, but have bought a ticket. Can I get a refund?

You won’t be able to get a refund but you can sell your ticket on. If you sell your ticket, just send the name and regnum of the person you've sold it to to joe.garvey@stmarys.ac.uk so that we can change the name over on our list – this email will need to come from your student email address. The person buying it from you won’t be able to exchange their ticket for a wristband if you don’t do this.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

You won’t be able to take any alcohol into the Building. Bag checks will be in operation.

What does my ticket give me?

Your ticket gives you entry into the indoor area of the Ball, but it doesn’t guarantee entry to any given part due to space restrictions. You will need to get to venues early to guarantee entry as there is a limited amount of space for each venue, eg for headline acts. Please also bring along student ID and a valid identification (passport or valid driving license).

Will there be food stalls?

There will be food outlets there on the night, but we advise that you eat before you arrive as it’s a long evening. Food currently will comprise of Domino’s Pizza selling slices for £1 and a burger van. Unfortunately, a vegan option won't be available on the night so please make sure you eat before if this is a dietary requirement – we apologise for the lack of this option, but there will be vegan food options in the Refectory before the night.

Can I park on campus?

Parking won’t be available on the evening.
