Education President Update:

I recently met with the registry team to discuss this petition. The university is open to this idea, and is currently considering how to go about implementing it.

There have been a lot of complaints about the Masters graduation being in the spring, rather than winter.

This particularly affects international students.

Example: our student visas expire in late January, and our graduation is in March.

Also, for both home and international students, this means that we must wait until March to get a degree which was graded in November, and this can affect employability with jobs that require the certifcate.

The postgraduate graduation should be moved to the winter (either December or January).

I am an international student and my visa is until the end of the January, so I want to experience it in January, please.

My student visa expires on January 28th. If I were not currently going onto the PhD at St. Mary's, I would not pay to fly back for that little graduation in the Spring. If it was at Westminster Cathedral like it is for undergrads, maybe, but just for the little event on campus, it is not worth the cost of the plane tickets. If it was in December or mid January, I would attend regardless.

Yes. Definitely it should be in January atleast if not December. The reason is very clear that most of the international students who don't want to live in this country after their completion of studies, they have to go back because of their visa expiry date i.e. XX/January. Which is not fair for International students.
