Fundraising

During your time at St Mary's, SMSU can help you to fundraise for either your society or for charity. We can also support sports clubs to fundraise for charity, but not for their club. We are there to support you on any of these types of fundraisers and the only thing you need to do to get this support is, to ask!

We are always open to new ideas so if you have a fundraiser that you would like to see us at SMSU complete or if you would like to collaborate with us on any fundraisers, please fill in this form HERE!laugh

We can help with:

  • Creating fundraising ideas and give advice on any ideas you have created already
  • Planning, organisation, and coordination of the fundraising activity (including booking spaces and with promotion on social media and our website to the wider student population)
  • Payments - we have 2 card readers that allow you to have cashless fundraising activities (just make sure to book when you would like the card reader so that you don't miss out)
  • Anything else you might need to get the fundraising activity along

Last year, the students at St Mary's raised over £10,000 for charity and this year we want that total to hit over £20,000! We are really hoping that you can be a part of the driving force that can help us achieve this target.

Some fundraisers we had last year that were really successful were

  • SIMMIES Big Brother - as part of Raising and Giving Week (RAG) raised over £2800 for the charity O2E.
  • St Mary's Rugby League team completed a 24-hour rowing machine challenge which raised over £1200 for the charity CALM.
  • Multiple bake sales from various clubs, societies and student groups that raised over £600 for charities and their clubs/societies.
