As you’ll hopefully know by now, the next fortnight is going to be a very busy fortnight for us at SMSU with TW1 Sessions and the Christmas Community fast approaching…

On the subject of those two events, we’ve been promoting hard amongst our student body for the TW1 Sessions and also with the local community for the Christmas Community Festival. TW1 Sessions is happening on Friday 8 December, and is Apres Ski themed – it’ll feature a giant snowboard rodeo and DJs who have played at London’s top clubs, such as  XOYO in Shoreditch.

The day after this, we’ve got a very different event – the Christmas Community Festival will be happening from 12-4pm in the SU Lounge. We’ve got over 40 stalls from local restaurants and businesses, in addition to student musicians and DJs and mulled wine at the Bar. There's also a rodeo reindeer for you to try! The local community will be invited along to this, so it’s a great chance to meet some of your neighbours and get into the festive spirit – there are also strong rumours circulating that Santa will be joining us on the day! Best of all, the whole thing is free entry – so there’s no excuse for you not to join us.

Looking back, we had RAG Week earlier in the month and we’re really pleased to announce that we raised £2,547.12 for Stonewall, CALM, Me Too & Co and Off The Record. We hope you had a great time at Simmies' Big Brother, our Charity Auction and all of the other events - remember, there'll be plenty more RAG events going on throughout the year so make sure you're following our social media channels to find out about them first. And as ever, if you have any community questions please get in touch - you can email me on vpcommunity@stmarys.ac.uk!
