Parking

The parking situation at university has become untenable. The building of the 1850, and now the new medical school, has greatly reduced the number of car parking spaces available to commuter students. Paired with the often unreasonable prices of some driveways through apps such as JustPark, and the fact the parking along the front of the university is now 2 hours maximum (no return), it is becoming increasingly difficult for commuter students, especially postgraduates, to park on site. I would like the university to commit to increasing the parking facilities at St Mary's University, and perhaps also liase with the local authorities to remove the 2 hours no return parkign along the front of campus. Perhaps a valid student card/permit to be displayed on student cars so as to prove students are using this area to park? The parking is even more challenging on Wednesdays when the spaces around Sport St Mary's are closed to accomodate visiting universities and their large travel coaches. This is not fair for those of us who actually attend this university, and would like to park on site, especially as postgraduate sessions often take place on Wednesday afternoons.
