  • To bring back paninis - selling half a sandwich for points when their isn't enough food is odd and are handy for those wanting to grab and go- there are never any panini's on the weekend!!
  • Cook meat that isn't spicy- to have a variety of flavours throughout the week: like garlic, lemon and herb, BBQ not just jerk and sweet chilly and piri piri (or have some plain chicken in the back)
  • TO NOT have mac and cheese as a main meal in the ref consistently especially as pasta and cheese pots are sold separately everyday anyway.
  • For there to be better food options / variety ........as seen from in recent 5 years- such as popcorn chicken, sweet potato fries, Nachos, bao buns with pulled pork/ beef, beef stew, noodle dishes, the katsu chicken was also amazing. Bring these back?
  • The chicken wraps have sadly been removed...... could these be brought back?
  • The wings stations does not have a lot of meat and is a lot of points could this be different/ improved.
  • The points system used to allow/ enable student points to be spent/ used on different noodles that could be made in halls- could this be re-introduced?
  • Maybe sell pot noodles in the ref as a product students can buy?
  • More ice cream options that can be purchased
  • To have roll over hotdogs and burgers on the Friday again for those who dont want to eat fish / curry- this was good for those on placement in the week as they can grab a meal at any point between class breaks. A good grab and go option. On Wednesdays a lot of students play sports and drink in the evening this option could be amazing
  • Restock the spice rack as this is a good addition but after being used frequently needs to be restocked.
  • Introduce more variety of berries in pots - there are grape pots- can we have blueberry / raspberry pots.

Thank you for the variety of yogurts, crisps, cookies, drinks and pastries 🥐

Nothing about having more points seems silly how is anyone able to have more than one meal a day with 10 points it’s a joke we need to be allowed more

It's ridiculous that many of the chicken dishes have hairs on them.

Most of the food is either as bland as cardboard or just repulsive. Also just a lack of healthy options that are at least tolerable. I’m fed up of just either having Mac and Cheese or Chips because everything else is respectfully crap or incredibly unappetising. Also the amount of milk that is off because it’s not kept cool enough is grim as well. So quality control is also an issue.

Is it a crime to want anything other than mac and cheese, chips, and a whole chicken leg for my dinner every day on repeat xxx

I’ve seen prisons with better variety than the ref, you’d think for a London uni, and with the one of the best ‘student experience’ you’d expect them to at least make us happy and serve food that isn’t served in food banks

Genuinely the most depressing and overpriced food I've ever had in my life. In my 2 years here, I feel like the quality of food has gone down

How has the ref downgraded drastically in the span of the summer holidays. We used to have paninis, good for tracking macros for those who play sports. Why do we have the same food EVERY DAY! The variety is nowhere. 1 different meal each day with the same 2 or 3 like mac and cheese and chicken, fries and chicken, bland chicken wing and katsu chicken. For reference, an average adult needs 2000 calories per day. You don’t even hit that in the refectory with the points we have. Up the points, bring more variety and at least let us hit the basic calorie requirement by giving us more points or bigger portion than 1 scoop. It’s ridiculous.

3 meals a day is impossible on 10 points, especially when any of the appetising options are like 5 points each??

More points throughout the week are needed. 10 points only allows you 2 meals and then after that you need to pay out of your own pocket.

Stupid to call the accomodation 'catered' when the points barely stretch to 2 meals a day, nevermind 3, and the quality and variety of food is so poor

A higher number of points on weekdays than weekends, to reflect the fact that more meals are available to purchase on weekdays. Better information about pricing of stuff - have had it where pricing on the menu in the queue is higher/lower than that given at the till.

I've seen prisons with better variety than the ref. Honestly, for a London uni that brags about offering one of the best “student experiences” in the country, you’d think they’d at least make sure their students are fed properly. The food options are depressing repetitive, bland, and sometimes just plain inedible. For the amount of money we pay to study and live here, the least they could do is provide meals that actually make us want to eat on campus. And don’t even get me started on the points system. Nothing about it makes sense. How is anyone meant to have more than one decent meal a day with just 10 points? It’s like they expect us to skip meals or survive on snacks. We’re not asking for luxury, just fairness and a system that actually meets basic student needs. The ref is supposed to be a space for students to relax, socialise, and enjoy food together not a place that feels like it’s rationing us. We deserve better variety, better quality, and a points system that recognises that students need proper meals to focus, study, and stay healthy. We need change. We need more points and more choice.

The quality of the food as well as the variety available has decreased significantly since just last year. For the amount of money paid by each student towards meals, the ref does not reflect the standard that is expected. The standard of practice towards food safety has also decreased, and on multiple occasions I have been served improperly cooked and stored food, for example eggs, which pose a serious health risk if not handled correctly.

For being the only option for those of us who live on campus the ref has seriously fell in standards between last year and this one the lack of healthy options the irregular restocking of the fries he’s and the poor diversity in food serving the same 4 meals is becoming a struggle to deal with as someone with dietary needs the ref barely meets these standards sadly

As someone that has lived on campus for 2 years I’ve seen a massive decrease in the quality of food and available options of food for people with intolerances especially seeing people having to eat plain pasta with cheese as they have no other options for food to eat. Additionally the fact that the ref times has changed is massively effecting people who have placements or work finishing a bit later there’s not many options for food that would be able to eat later in the evening and having to regularly eat microwave meals which isn’t nutritional and means having to spend more money as we only have microwaves available in our kitchen.
