Jasmine's Manifesto

1. To Have More Educational Opportunities 

• Postgraduate careers fayre
• Placement fayre for students to have more options or get experience
• Career fayre for each department – but to include companies directly hiring
• Winter graduations back to allow internationals / masters to graduate without applying for an extra Visa.

2. Improve Education Facilities For All 

• To have an Outdoor gym
• Access to PEC for all student on a sports programme
• Library books to be more recent- one person from each department to sent updated reading list to library team
• To move the sensory room to more accessible space   

3. More Help Whilst Studying

• More scholarships / grants for all students (internationals)
• Timetabled refencing  sessions for students
• Students to have their tutors name in the SMU at the top from the beginning of year

4. To Improve Student Communications 

• To use Instagram page to communicate events the day before
• To have lecturers communicate events on campus at end of sessions
• For student union to do a monthly update for events they are running for that month.
• To have a individual faculty boards with subject special news for students.

5. Bring Back Study Abroad 

• Ensure university sign up for free Turing grant from the government to ensure student have the option to find/ fund their own placement.
• Utilise partnership university already have so UK students can travel and study aboard for a semester.
• Ensure UK students also have international learning opportunities for the summer.
