Student life is the centre of St Mary’s University. It is where friendships are formed, identities are explored, voices are heard, and many memories are made up to graduation. I am running for Student Life President because I believe every student deserves a sense of belonging here at St Mary’s University — not just academically, but socially, culturally, and personally.
Bradley's Manifesto
1. Looking at the 1850, we know it is a space that people love to hang out in with friends, and many events and activities take place there. However, I am aware that these activities are often the same every week, which can become boring. I hope to bring a fresh approach to activities and events on campus by introducing different events every two weeks at the 1850. Moreover, I will go around campus asking students what events they would like to see held at the 1850, because your voice matters.
2. Moving away from the 1850 and onto the Refectory, I understand that improvements need to be made to the range of meals provided. My approach to addressing this is to meet with the catering team every Friday to review which meals have the lowest sales that week and discuss whether these can be changed. These changes can be suggested through a suggestion box in the Refectory, allowing students to share their opinions. In addition, I want to keep a tally of different meals to understand what students like and dislike, providing clear evidence of results to support improvements.
3. Sport is something the University values, and this is extremely positive. After a long day of lectures and hard work, it is great to have access to sporting activities and clubs throughout the week, allowing students to step away from their studies and enjoy time with friends. I hope to speak with gym staff to explore extending gym opening hours on campus, as well as working closely to improve club training and sponsorship opportunities by building relationships with local businesses in Twickenham.
4. I recognise that university life can be overwhelming, and no student at St Mary’s University should feel isolated or left out. I want to support more collaborative events between societies, clubs, and cultural groups, bringing different communities together as one. This will allow our diverse culture to shine, help students meet new people, build friendships, and create memories they will cherish forever.
Why Vote For Me?
If elected as Student Life President, I will work hard to ensure that I listen to all students and amplify your voices — I will be the megaphone for your voice. I am easy to approach, and together we can create meaningful change, because we are all one community here at St Mary’s University.
I am running for Student Life President because I want to bring everyone together at St Mary’s University and help improve areas that we, as a collective, feel need change. This is not just about me — it is about us. We are in this together.
