Black History Month is October in the UK, and it's been running for 40 years. It's an opportunity for people of all ethnicities and races to celebrate the contributions that people from African and Caribbean background have made to the UK throughout history. This guide gives a great insight into what Black History Month is so have a look!

Check out our programme of events to see what we're doing at SMSU - if you're doing anything to celebrate it, then make sure you get in touch on social media to let us know.

We hope that this will be the most well-attended and successful Black History Month ever at St Mary's, but if you do have suggestions for what you'd like to see happening at the event in future please don't hesitate to let us know - you can DM us on social media or email us at smsu@stmarys.ac.uk
