Have a laugh with your pals at our Comedy Club!
In association with Chuckl, SMSU proudly presents a night of laughter by three incredible comedians – Robert White, Yuriko Kotani and Mark Bittlestone!
Arguably best known as coming second in ITV’s highest rated show, Britain’s Got Talent, in 2018, Robert White is the only gay, Aspergic, quarter-Welsh comic in the British comedy scene. The quirky comic sailed through his first audition, after his offbeat humour and fantastically rude song about the judges brought a standing ovation. His performances throughout were typically chaotic, but hilarious!
Yuriko Kotani is UK-based Japanese comedian – she began performing stand-up in 2014 and was names as “one to watch” by Time Out and won the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2015. In 2016, she appeared on series 2 of Russell Howard's ‘Stand Up Central’, BBC Three's ‘Pls Like’ in 2017, CBBC's ‘The Dog Ate My Homework’ in 2018 and ‘Paul Hollywood Eats Japan’ on Channel 4 in 2020.
With his candid approach to discussing being gay in 2021, Mark is rapidly making a name for himself both online and on the UK standup circuit. He has 100k followers on TikTok and 30k on Instagram, while in the real world (!) has twice won Up the Creek’s prestigious Blackout competition and was also runner-up from 300 entrants in the Max Turner Prize 2018!
Doors open at 6pm – so make sure you grab a drink from our bar and get dibs on the best seats!
