We've curated a really diverse range of events to celebrate LGBT History Month. Make sure that you come along to something to support the amazing community that St Mary's has, whoever you are. All of these are completely free - we want everyone to be able to celebrate this month together and have tried to ensure that there are as few barriers as possible. Those who identify as LGBT and those who are allies are equally welcome.

Below is what's going on. We're so excited to get started!

Let's Talk About Faith and Sexuality
Monday 4 February, 4-5pm, The Chaplaincy

LGBT identity is often seen as being incompatible with religious belief. We're inviting everyone to an open and honest conversation with the Chaplaincy team about faith and sexuality. People who identify as LGBT and allies are both equally welcome!

'Against the Rules' - An Exhibition in LGBT Identity within Sport
Thursday 20 February, Waldegrave Drawing Room, 12pm - 5pm (the exhibition will be shown on other dates and locations until 28 February)

We're showing an exhibition which was created by the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation - it's all about LGBT identity within sport. As an organisation that's heavily involved in student representation and sport, this is really important to us and we know that it will resonate with a lot of you. We hope that you'll come along to see it whether you're a sportsperson or not!

Anti-Bullying Day
Wednesday 26 February - all day

Anti-Bullying Day is an initiative to show solidarity with those who have been the victims of bullying, which is something that LGBT people statistically fall victim to more than their heterosexual counterparts. Show your solidarity by wearing something pink on the day - you can also donate to anti-bullying charities like YoungMinds and Raise Your Hands by clicking on the links.
