Society Awards
The SMSU Society Awards have returned for 2022, and they’re a brilliant chance for you to give back to the society members, societies and committee members who have gone above and beyond for you this academic year. The nomination period is now open, and will stay open until Wednesday 20 April at 5pm. We'll then present the awards on Friday 29 April 2022.

Society of the Year
This award will go to the society which has made the most impactful contribution to both it’s own development and to the wider university and its community. The winning society will be inclusive, listen to their members, and do all that they can to attract and support new members. Submit your nomination for this award here.
Most Improved Society
This award will go to the society which has developed the most this year whilst working closely with the University and the SU to improve the student experience. The winning society will have worked hard to raise it’s profile and increase engagement throughout the academic year. Submit your nomination for this award here.
Committee Member of the Year
The winner of Committee Member of the Year will have gone above and beyond to support their society and its members to ensure that they have the best experience possible. They will have gone the extra mile and gone above and beyond the responsibilities of their role. Submit your nomination for this award here.
Most Charitable Society
This award recognises a society who has used their platform to raise awareness or funds for a charity/charities or local community organisations. As well as money raised, this award recognises time and dedication to a cause that is close to the heart of the society's membership and ethos.Submit your nomination for this award here.
Society Event of the Year
The winner of this award will have run the most captivating and engaging Society Event of the year so far. Nominees will not be judged on the number of attendees, but on the impact of the event on fellow Simmies. Submit your nomination for this award here.
Presidents' Award
Your SMSU Presidents will be awarding a very special society or society committee member their award for 2022. This award recognises a group or individual that has gone above and beyond this year to improve the student experience across societies and has served as an example of excellent leadership, values and problem-solving. This is not an award that accepts nominations, so be sure to come along to our Societies Awards Night on the Friday 29th April 2022.
