Society Awards

The Society Awards are here, and they’re a brilliant chance for you to give back to the society members, societies and committee members who have gone above and beyond for you this academic year. The nomination period is now open, and will stay open until Friday 16 April at 5pm. We'll then present the awards on Friday 7 May. You can find the details for each award here, and the nomination form for all awards can be found here.

For your nomination to be counted, you’ll need to submit a photo of the person or society that you’re nominating when you nominate – please email this to ellie.harris@stmarys.ac.uk.

Society of the Year

This award will go to the society which has made the biggest contribution to both it’s own development and to the wider university and its community. They will have hosted online events or found other ways to engage their members virtually. The winning society will be inclusive, listen to their members, and do all that they can to attract new members. Submit your nomination for this award here.

Most Improved Society

This award will go to the society which has improved the most this year. The winning society will be the one that has worked the hardest in the circumstances to raise it’s profile and reach more potential members. Submit your nomination for this award here.

Committee Member of the Year

The winner of Committee Member of the Year will have gone above and beyond in being there for not only their own society but for others around them. They will have made sure that every member in their society has stayed safe, enjoyed themselves and has had an experience that is second to none. They will have gone the extra mile and done much more than what their committee role entails. Submit your nomination for this award here.

Most Charitable Society

The Most Charitable Society will have gone out of their way for others this year. While they might have raised money for charities, the society that wins could also have been generous with their time by using it to help the local community or other societies. Submit your nomination for this award here.

Best New Society

The Best New Society will be a society that started in the 2020/21 academic year. The winner will have been the most inclusive society of these and will have provided the best offering to their members. Submit your nomination for this award here.

Rising Society of the Year

The Rising Society of the Year will be the Society that has attracted the most members this year – it’s not open for nominations as it will be judged through counting members on our membership system. Submit your nomination for this award here.

Most Inspiring Society

The winner of Most Inspiring Society will have inspired you and your fellow Simmies this year in your progression through your journey at St Mary’s. The winner of this award will have committee members who have inspired you and your fellow Simmies to help both yourself and others around you. Submit your nomination for this award here.

Society Campaign of the Year

The winner of Society Campaign of the Year will have run the most captivating and engaging Society Campaign of the year so far. It doesn’t have to be a huge campaign, but it will be one that has had an impact on you or your fellow Simmies. Submit your nomination for this award here.
