Varsity is a major university event that brings together students across courses and disciplines to support our sports teams. Our university is currently defending a three-year winning streak, and many students wish to attend and support their peers while they compete. Additionally, some students will be representing the university as competitors in Varsity and will otherwise be forced to miss compulsory lectures in order to participate.

Due to current lecture scheduling and limited available bus routes from campus, many students are unable to attend without missing compulsory academic sessions. We believe it is important to foster both academic excellence and university community spirit, and allowing flexibility on this day would enable students to support their teammates and represent the university as a united community.

We are requesting that Wednesday lectures be:

• Rescheduled to an alternative time, or
• Delivered in a recorded format, or
• Made online via Teams for another day in the week.
