Sports Dinner 🍽

The annual Sports Dinner takes place towards the end of March each year and is where we can celebrate our best teams, clubs, coaches and club members.  

The awards are judged by a panel, but the nominations are open to everyone. Information about each role can be found below.  

This year, Sports Dinner took place on the 22nd March - you can view the winners of this year's awards below!

The Sports Honours Award is awarded to a student who is a member of a club, and goes above and beyond to better the St Mary's community and student experience outside of sport. 

This year, the recipient of this award was Libby Girling.

This award is presented to an individual that has made a well-rounded contribution to student sport through a combination of their sporting performance and personal characteristics.  

The recipient of this award for 2024 was Jacob Low.

This award recognises an outstanding athlete that has shown a top level of performance at St Mary’s and beyond.  

The recipient of this award for 2024 was Maisie Davidson.

This award recognises an outstanding athlete that has shown a top level of performance at St Mary’s and beyond. 

The recipient of this award for 2024 was Samuel Haswell. 

This award is presented to a committee member who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment and passion for their role, and has made a significant contribution to their club.  

The recipient of this award for 2024 was Dan Smith. 

This award is awarded to a team that has shown a high-level of performance on the pitch and have also demonstrated a commitment to improving performance.  

In 2024, the recipients of this award were Women's Futsal. 

This award recognises a club that has shown a high level of improvement from their previous year, across development, engagement and performance.  

In 2024, the recipients of this award were Netball.

This award is presented to the club that has provided an exceptional experience to their members, and have developed their club in a positive way.  

In 2024, the recipients of this award were Cheerleading. 

New for this year - this award is presented to the club that's been significantly involved in charity work throughout the year.

In 2024, the recipients of this award were Lacrosse. 

St Mary’s University Blues are the most prestigious individual sporting award, recognising students who have made a significant contribution to student sport on and/or off the pitch!  

In 2024 the Half Blues were awarded to Cameron Cooper, Arti Sahu, Kai Williams, Tyrese Cummings, Cooper Whitford, Ella Dempster, Tendaishe Robinson, Mia Eldridge and Charlotte Close. 

St Mary’s University Blues are the most prestigious individual sporting award, recognising students who have made a significant contribution to student sport on and/or off the pitch! 

In 2024 the Full Blues were awarded to Jacob Low, Jolanta Kirchner, Emma Coombs, Liam Hession, Libby Girling, Jordan Fadoju, Louis Chapman, Phoebe Edwards, Shivraj Ramkhelawan, Rosie Paige and Samuel Haswell.
